The Campers are Coming!

New DFC Flyer Back
New Flyers from Drum for Change

New Flyers for May!  Drum for Change is excited about all the cool happenings on the calendar to include private and group lessons, a SIXTH YEAR at drumSTRONG, the on-going Lake Johnson Jam, the weekly Hoop Jam and much more!

My work at Tai Sophia Institute is giving great depth and breadth to my personal development and team-building workshops.  I'm so glad to be bringing these new insights to my work.  If you haven't attended a Drum For Change program in a while, you might be surprised at the changes!

Coming soon are projects with the Lumber River Area Council on Aging, a creativity workshop with Annelies Gentile through the Conduit Center for Creative Change, Jim Donovan's Transformation Through Rhythm teacher training, and..... SUMMER CAMPS!!!

Summer Camps are new this year - week-long, half-day camps throughout the area that offer values-based hands-on rhythm experiences for upper elementary and middle-school children.  Five camps are in the works right now.  Town of Cary has both age groups booked at the Page Walker Center.  Apex is hosting younger kids at Halle Cultural Arts.  The new Fuquay-Varina Arts Council is in the works and so is the Eschler Music Foundation in Boylan Heights right here in Raleigh.

Here's what they're saying down in Apex:

Get your groove on with GOYO!
'GOYO' Greg Whitt teaches rhythm on djembe drums and percussion from around the planet.
Steeped in history and mystery, spend a full week with HANDS ON DRUMS.
Learn about folkloric music from the village, engage in creative self-expression, and participate
in ancient traditions that foster fun and promote wellness.
Guest teachers will also explore rhythm in all its forms --
poetry, dance and even hula hooping!
Please bring a healthy snack and a water bottle.
There will be a recital for family and friends on Friday at 12 noon.
No previous experience necessary.
